With over 30 years of experience in the electrical industry, Greg has spent more than 20 of those years as an electrical inspector and working in the renewable energy field. His career has taken him around the globe, from Asia and Europe to the Pacific Islands, where he spent two years installing solar systems for NGOs, public and private clients. He has worked extensively in the marine industry, managing battery-based inverter power systems, generators and DC systems. For a decade, he operated a successful electrical and solar company in Central Hawkes Bay. He finds the electrical and solar industry particularly rewarding because it is always evolving, offering a dynamic and stimulating work environment. He has witnessed the industry’s remarkable progress, from the early days when only the most dedicated clients would invest in solar systems—costing ten times more than today’s systems for a fraction of the performance—to the highly efficient systems available now. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, paddleboarding, disc golfing, cooking, eating, and going on motorcycle adventures—all shared with his wife in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
