Benefits of Solar

Solar energy allows you to take more control over rising electricity costs and to reduce the amount you spend on buying power from the grid.

Which System Is Right For Me?

Which system to install depends on several variables, including your current energy usage, available space, budget and objectives. Infinite Energy NZ often recommends a combination of both solar water heating and Solar PV. Solar Water Heating systems using modern evacuated tubes can be a great option for families and households where you are not spending much time at home during the day. Your hot water cylinder is used to store heat/energy from the sun, meaning you’ll have plenty of free hot water as and when you need it. These systems are very efficient and can reduce your water heating costs by up to 75%. Given that water heating typically accounts for approximately 30-35% of average household energy usage, this can represent a significant saving. Solar PV is also a great option because the energy you generate can be used to power anything in your home, farm or work place. A grid...

Solar Hot Water

How does it work? Roof mounted solar water heaters work by absorbing energy/heat from the sun and transferring this heat to the water in your cylinder. We prefer to install in-direct or closed loop systems as they offer in-built frost protection and there are no issues with degradation due to water quality. Our Hi-Min evacuated tubes (which do not contain water) work by absorbing and transferring heat to a closed copper pipe loop containing glycol (anti-freeze) that circulates through a coil in your hot water cylinder. This, in turn, heats your water. Evacuated tubes are an incredibly efficient and reliable way to heat water. Roof mounted evacuated tubes are preferred to ‘flat plate collectors’ as they are more efficient, especially in low light in winter conditions, are more reliable in cool climates – and overall provide a very cost effective and incredibly...
